Original paintings by M Senathipathi
Senathipathi was born in Madras, India in 1939. He received his Diploma in Drawing and Painting from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Madras, in 1965. In 1988 he received a British Council visitorship/grant to travel to London, France, Holland, Belgium and West Germany.
Since 1976 he has been regularly selected for exhibitions throughout India, and has participated in international exhibitions in Holland, Morocco, Poland and Australia.
Senathipathi had his first one-man show in Madras in 1977, followed by several more in Madras and Bangalore in the 1980's and 90's. He has participated in group shows in Madras, Bombay, Bangalore and New Delhi.
Between 1984 and 1986 he was awarded a Senior Fellowship, Department of Culture by the government of India, which followed an award in 1981 at the Tamilnadu Lalit Kala Akademi, Madras.
His works are in the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and in corporate and private collections throughout India and abroad.
