Toupillier, in the great tradition of naïve artists, is entirely self-taught, but has the ability to use straightforward imagery to communicate in a clear and simple way.
She is a native of Montmartre where she still lives, although many of her works were painted when she was living in the village of St. Jeannet, near Nice.
Toupillier has exhibited internationally in Hamburg, Tokyo and Boston (USA), and has held five solo shows at the Museum of Montmartre (Historial de Montmartre). She was an exclusive artist for five years with Galerie Bussière in Montmartre, and has exhibited in central Paris at Galerie Diana on the Rue de Castiglione (near Place Vendôme) and at Galerie Robert Phillippe in Montmartre.
